What’s coming in December

We will end a fantastic innovative year with adding even more value to your whole organization. Workflows, Row-Level Security, Dynamic Filters, Detail Sliders, Rich Export options and more

Tableau in Powerpoint! Introducing VizSlides

Our latest release VizSlides is now live for all to use! Have an interactive Tableau dashboard in PowerPoint!

Instead of importing images and text to show your findings. Have a live dashboard inside PowerPoint to show the findings yourself and set your filters and parameters. Create one presentation and share with all, knowing your data is governed and secured through Tableau with the benefits of Single Sign On.

Filters can be stored within VizSlides, so when you share your presentation the filter will still be active and your presentation holds the information intended to share, super useful! Users can show their dashboard as an image too. This will allow for a better performance and for non-Tableau users to present without needing to login.

ProcessMining Detail Slider

ProcessMining visualizations can be complicated and hard to read by the human eye, especially if the process isn’t very well structured.

We have added a detail slider to reduce the amount of variants shown in your process map. With the detail slider, you can control the focus of the graph from the most to the least occurring variants that occur in your dataset. The detail slider also features an interactive histogram which shows the number of cases for each of the buckets.

The slider works interactive-based on the content of your dataset (auto scaling) even when Tableau filters are applied to it. The user can click the histogram to change the focus of the graph, allowing you to investigate all parts of the spectrum, because sometimes you’re interested in analyzing the least occuring variants.

Big improvements have been implemented including performance, animations and layout! Go grab yourself a free unlimited trial to test-drive the Premium ProcessMining extension for Tableau.

WriteBackExtreme updates!

Row level security

When setting up a schema in the management console, admins are able to set row level security on groups and/or users. Set groups or users with row level security so they only see the data that’s relevant to them within WriteBackExtreme. An example is that users in a particular department will only see their departments data. Multiple rules can be set up so groups/users can see their departments information in a particular region for example. More security added to WriteBackExtreme!

Choose the property of your data and the value within that property, the users of this group will only see the data within these fields.

When connected to the schema only the rows will be present in your data set

Workflows

WriteBackExtreme Workflow Relation

Workflows enables the user to, for example, send notifications to other applications (or users) when data is added, changed or deleted in WriteBackExtreme. For example, it is now possible to send an e-mail via Zapier when data has been changed in WriteBackExtreme. We support multiple workflow automation tools like Salesforce Flow, Microsoft Power Automate and Zapier. If you have a different tool let us know!

Workflows are managed per schema in the management console. When data for a schema is saved in the extension, WriteBackExtreme will check if there are any workflows defined for that schema and execute them. The management console allows the user to specify which data is being sent to the third party application.

It is even possible to make workflows more advanced by adding relations. This allows the user to attach even more data to the workflow payload from other schemas. For example: When the user has a field called `country state` in his form, it is possible to define a relation that tells the workflow to append all representatives of that state to the workflow payload.

Dynamic Filtering

Dynamic filtering on all entries using Add Data & Data Helper Modules. By default the extension will show all data that has been added using WriteBackExtreme, with Dynamic Filtering the extension will only show the data that matches the filters present on your dashboard!

Editable conditions

Set conditions to allow or deny users the ability to edit a row in WriteBackExtreme, if this condition isn’t met then the logged in user will not be able to edit the comment. For example if the status of the row is ‘Current’ then that row can be editable, all rows that do not have a current status will be uneditable, or if you wish to have comments only about ‘Phones’ this is also possible.

SuperTables 3.1 (Already live!)

SuperTables 3.1 has been released with so many improvements it has its own SuperTables 3.1 Blog Our biggest improvement this release is the improvements we made in exporting to Excel. We know exporting is still necessary for many use cases with many of our customers. We now support native formatting options like background and text coloring on dimensions, measures and/or calculations. They will be included in the export to Excel in the same way you applied them in your SuperTables instance. A much improved look when exporting from a group will help your end users gain more and quicker insights in the exported data. . CountD is now possible on any dimension or measure in your dataset where you can now show the number of unique values instead of empty columns, to the delight of many! All this and more!
