Iron Vizzy Spotlight: Esther’s Handmade Jewelry Business Dashboard.

How Esther created a dashboard to help her business grow.
As Esther’s handmade jewellery business, CEO Beads, started to gain traction, keeping track of incoming orders became a challenge. She wanted a central, visual place to stay in control of everything; from who ordered what to what’s selling best. Esther wanted a structured system that reflects both her creativity and her need for organization.
This mix shaped the direction of the dashboard. It’s not just a tracker. It’s a tool that helps turn creative work into a thriving, sustainable business.
From idea to design.
Before, Esther was handling orders manually across messages and notes, and it quickly became overwhelming. From there, she thought about what would help her stay in the flow of running the business.
The dashboard started as a simple table, focused on displaying products and customer names. As the project progressed, Esther added filters, charts, and calculated fields, including total revenue and repeat customers.
The final design features a layout with three key areas: product gallery, order tracking, and KPIs. She then added interactive filters, visual charts, and branded elements, such as her logo and QR code. The design evolved as she used the dashboard, removing anything that added noise and enhancing the parts that supported her workflow.
Extensions that shape the experience.
Esther integrated WriteBackExtreme to make the dashboard interactive. Now, the dashboard is a fully operational toll where she can update orders, log new ones, track production, and get real-time insights. Esther created three forms:
- One for creating new orders
- One for recording production tasks
- One for keeping stock records up to date
These were linked to specific buttons and containers in the dashboard for smooth user flow.
On top of that, Esther also added SuperTables for the product and order views; it allows for search, sorting, and dynamic filtering.

Why these visuals work.
Esther chose visuals that are both practical and insightful. The bar chart for “Sales by Platform” shows where her customers come from (Instagram, WhatsApp, etc). Then the “Top 5 Products” bar chart helps her quickly spot what’s performing best. The KPI cards at the top provide a clear overview of the business with key metrics like total orders, revenue, and net earnings, which are perfect for quick decision-making.
Skills gained along the way.
While working on her entry, Esther learned how powerful a well-designed dashboard can be when it’s built with a real purpose. This exercise taught her to balance design with function, keeping the layout clean while making sure every component adds value. She also improved her skills in using Tableau extensions, dashboard actions, and calculating custom metrics that reflect real business performance.
A creative highlight.
One of her favorite parts of the process was bringing her own brand to life through data. It was fun combining visual design with analytics, especially when the product images, the branded logo, and the interactive QR code were added. It felt like she was building not just a dashboard, but a reflection of her business identity.

A tool built to grow.
For Esther, the dashboard is not just an Iron Vizzy entry. It is something she plans to use as her business grows. Absolutely. It saves her time, keeps her organized, and gives her the confidence to make smarter decisions. She is also excited to be adding new features to it as her business scales up, like automated restock alerts or customer insights.
